NY-based husband and wife photography/director duo, BJARNE x TAKATA (Bjarne Jonasson and Nanae Takata), bring their disciplines together for an unique, dynamic, creative process - with Nanae coming from a design background to complement Bjarne’s photographic one.  “We are always challenging one another.  It keeps us evolving.”

Nanae graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2009 with a BFA in fashion design.  Her design career began when she became an assistant to Jil Sander when Jil was appointed creative director of +J for Uniqlo.

Bjarne’s fascination with photography began at an early age.  For many years he assisted some of the leading photographers in fashion, including 4 years as first assistant to David Sims before going on his own.

In 2017, Nanae and Bjarne formed BJARNE x TAKATA.
